Helping more students pursue their dreams.

Since the scholarship program’s inception, over 30 years ago, the Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation has provided over $1.4 million in scholarships to local graduating high school seniors. Our Scholarship Program is open to high school seniors graduating from public high schools and public vocational high schools in our entire CRA assessment area, including Shawsheen Valley Technical School. Our current assessment area includes Acton, Arlington, Bedford, Belmont, Boston, Brookline, Burlington, Cambridge, Charlestown, Chelsea, Concord, Everett, Lexington, Lincoln, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Newton, Revere, Saugus, Somerville, Stoneham, Wakefield, Waltham, Watertown, Winchester, Winthrop, Woburn, and the neighborhoods of Allston and Brighton.

The scholarships are named in honor of retired CEOs, Kevin J. Fitzgerald & Robert M. Wilson.

About the Kevin J. Fitzgerald Scholarship

Mr. Fitzgerald began his career at Cambridge Savings Bank while at college, through a cooperative education program. He started his full-time career with the bank in 1967. Throughout his career Mr. Fitzgerald held the positions of Chief Operating Officer, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. Mr. Fitzgerald continues to serve on the Board of Directors for Cambridge Savings Bank. As a highly respected member of the Bank’s communities, Mr. Fitzgerald actively served on several non-profit boards. Mr. Fitzgerald’s success, beginning with his college education, is the reason Cambridge Savings Bank offers scholarships for higher education.

About the Robert M. Wilson Music Scholarship

Mr. Wilson first joined Cambridge Savings Bank in 1995 after holding executive positions in other financial institutions. He became President and Chief Executive Officer of Cambridge Financial Group and Cambridge Savings Bank in 2006 and continued to hold that position until his retirement. Mr. Wilson continues to serve on the Board of Directors for Cambridge Savings Bank and the Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation. Mr. Wilson is a musician with a passion for the arts and to honor him and his contributions, Cambridge Savings Bank established this scholarship focused on musicians.

We are so glad to be able to give back to the community in this meaningful way by supporting these students as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

The application deadline for 2022 scholarships has passed. Applications for 2023 scholarships will be available in early 2023.
