Financial Education Program

 

Cambridge Savings Bank established the CSBsmart Financial Education Program to fulfill a vital need for reliable financial knowledge. The purpose of the program is to contribute to the economic development of our communities and to the well- being of the people who live and work here by: 

  • Developing and delivering quality programs on a wide variety of financial topics to community members of all ages and economic backgrounds 
  • Helping community members take steps toward reaching their financial goals 
  • Empowering individuals by educating them to develop a broad range of money management skills

We are continually developing new financial education lessons and have already presented the following:

 

Young Children

“Teach Children to Save” teaches saving and how to think about money in new and different ways.

 

Older Children

Series of 6 lessons that include:

  • What is Money and What Can You Do with It?
  • Saving and Budgeting - Why and How?

Teens and Adults

“Money Management” that includes:

  • Budgeting and Saving

Seniors

“Fraud Awareness” - How to protect yourself from scams

Basic Banking for Seniors - Introduction to banking for unbanked and underbanked seniors

Cambridge Savings Bank maintains a volunteer corps of employees highly trained in financial education topics. They conduct seminars, and participate in the American Banker’s Association “Get Smart About Credit” and “Teach Your Children to Save” Days.
