Cambridge Savings Bank Volunteer Day at Our Place

Cambridge, MA - Cambridge Savings Bank recently held a volunteer day at Our Place Daycare center for homeless children, Salvation Army Cambridge. Cambridge Savings Bank employees joined the Cambridge Community of Real Estate Professionals and other local realtors to spend the day giving back.

Cambridge Savings Bank and local realtor volunteers provided assistance for teachers in the classrooms, participated with the children in the playground, cleaned all outdoor toys and climbing structures, changed air condition filters, sorted toys and books and more. Cambridge Savings Bank also made a $10,000 donation to support, Our Place daycare center.

“It was heartwarming to witness so many people giving of themselves to help The Salvation Army. We are extremely grateful to Cambridge Savings Bank for allowing their employees an opportunity to help us to help others,” said Major Thomas Babbitt, Salvation Army. “The volunteers from Cambridge Savings, as well as those from Cambridge Community of Real Estate Professionals, were outstanding in their service no matter what we asked them to do.”

The Salvation Army Our Place Day Care Center helps families break the cycle of homelessness and attain self-sufficiency by providing a program that meets the educational, emotional and spiritual needs of each family member. While their children are enrolled in Our Place, parents have the opportunity to work, seek permanent housing, attend school, receive counseling, volunteer in the center or attend Parent Workshops.

“We’re very pleased to support The Salvation Army Our Place Day Care Center by sponsoring a volunteer day four our employees,” said Wayne Patenaude, president and CEO of Cambridge Savings Bank. “The Salvation Army has helped many in need through their programs and services and the Bank is proud to support such a wonderful organization in our community.”
